Utah Winter Games SHORT TRACK

Short Track is pretty much the best sport ever. Today I personally had a break through. Its called the 1500 meter. I have been dreading that race my whole life this past week and I so badly wanted to not ever go. Well I hopped on the ice for warm up and I got that feeling of comfortableness on the ice. You kinda feel like you can do anything.

The first set of races was the 1000. I don't really remember it. The second race was the 500. All I remember from that was that my legs still had more laps in them after it was over. The third race was the dreaded 1500. Poke my eyes out!

Lucy, Lara and I are at the line waiting for the dun to go off and BANG! I was in the back for the first few laps then saw an opening and went for the pass on the inside entering the corner. We all played passing games for a bit then I got in front and lead till there was a fourth lap to go. I was entering the last corner and right before I got there, I thought - outside track...inside track...outside track... and I was there and too the corner wide and Lucy passed me and won.

I could hear everyone cheering like crazy and it was just plain fun. I was ready to do a reskate and win. My legs thought otherwise.

Well here are some pictures from the whole shabang. There are some that just didn't turn out due to lighting and speed, but here are some good ones. (clicking the picture will lead to the album)
