Good Combo: Lifehouse & Short Track

A Better Concert Recap:
(in random order)

- Hanging By A Moment was the coolest moment of the show! Everyone was singing and knew the words. Plus that song had been stuck in my head for the past few days. It was good to get it all out.
- Bryce, the bass player sang the whole song Bridges. I looked over at Jason (the lead singer) while this was all taking place and he was just playing his guitar smiling.
- During the song Whatever It Takes there was a small fight brewing about (these guys fighting over some girl) over yonder right in front of Jason. He was watching all this get stirred up while singing, "I'll do whatever it takes, to turn this around..." I kinda laughed inside. Then after the song was over, Bryce addressed the fighters saying they should have picked a more active song to fight to.
- The band is a lot more active than the last time I saw them. Jason broke out with a semi rap version of Quasimodo in the middle of another song. It was kinda nice. He was just always stand/sing/play. Now he moves around.
- The overall crowd mostly consisted of: Girls night out & some dates.
- Can't wait till the next tour!

Short Track
This weekend is short track Nationals in Milwaukee. Amazingly, it is going to be broadcast online live. The US Speedskating Site has all the info and link to the event. Races start tomorrow!

To Go With That
A little bit more
The man who can drive himself further
once the effort gets painful
is the man who will win.

-- Roger Bannister

When things get difficult, that's the time to give it your all. That's when you can make the biggest difference.

It is when you reach the edge of your abilities, and you come face to face with your limitations, that you begin to grow. When you are forced to push yourself beyond the limit, you will raise yourself above the crowd.

Give it all you've got, and then give it a little bit more. That little bit will make all the difference. That little bit will turn struggle into achievement. It only takes one point more than the other team, to win the Super Bowl. It only takes a few hundredths of a second less than the nearest runner [skater], to win the race.

Making the effort will keep you in the race. Giving a little bit extra on top of that, will make you a winner.

-- Ralph Marston

Good luck to the SLC group & roomies!
