It's Monday morning and I am ready for bed! My allergies kicked in on my way to work and I just want to sleep. My knees are sore. Yesterday Nick and I went for a hike. Quoting Apollo 13 "It was a successful failure." There is a mountain behind the Bountiful temple with telephone poles going straight up it. That was the mountain we wanted to get to the top of. At the base of that mountain there is a parking lot with a trail head. It starts off pretty good winding in and out of the river passing many cool possible camp sites. It soon turns into jungle fever! The trees and plants are so thick that at times you can't see your feet. Twigs graze the skin on your legs. Who knows what kind of insects are around.

Going through one particular river crossing wasn't so swell for me. I went and stepped on a rock and my foot slipped. A few rocks got the best of my knee and shin. To this day, it still hurts. 2.5 hours had passed and we still weren't to the top of any mountain. Nick decided to turn back, thankfully! Making my way down a steeper part of the hill I slipped and felt it in both of my knees. There were flies, bees, hornets and stuff all over the place. I am surprised one of us didn't get stung.

We made it back to the car and home. I had mud and scratches all over my legs. A nice nap was in order waking up just in time to catch the closing ceremonies. Overall the hike wasn't too hard. It had it's moments. I got in a good workout.
