Man, I am beat! This post probably could be better at some other time, but I just wanted to get something up concerning today. So this morning Nick and I left the house at around 8am. Got to the Oval, got the gear and got started! My job was to be a Runner. I had to run paper start lists and results down stairs in the athlete area and post them on my great wall-o-fun, then I had to put the papers in the country's boxes at the Race Office - aka: Skate Rental. In my down time I had to take some pictures of the volunteers and then watch the races. Nick's job was block chasing. He is very good at that!

This is Tony-HD. He recently got hired by US Speedskating to film. He is a skater from Calif and is so into technology it's crazy! He sells race footage on his website: ShortTrackHD.com

Here is Asian Nick (from South Africa who moved to SLC to skate) taking a picture of the going-ons. He too is a block chaser for this grand event.

These next 2 pictures is Paul. He showed up looking pretty fancy. He is a long tracker.

Lunch Time!!! It is crazy that we had Chick-Fil-A for lunch cause I have been wanting some of that for a little while now and BAM, we got it! Them and Vitamin Water provided lunch for all the volunteers.

And here we minus me are! Well some of us. These are some of the other runners. We were standing around waiting for some papers to run.

We left the Oval around 7ish. Bellies full, feet tired and eyes ready to close. Two more days!
Oh the races!... they went pretty good. Its always fun watching some good short track. The new pad system seems to be working nicely. A few skaters got to try them out. USA did very well. Tomorrow is when the real action starts!
