I am going to cry you a river.

Here at my place of work we are given 16 hours of paid time off a year. Along with that we are given 8 hours a month that can build up. I never had looked at my summery of these hours till the middle of August. My hire date was August 13 last year. I looked at my summery on the 11th and saw that I still had my 16 hours and then 96 hours I had built up. I asked my boss what set of hours expire when, and he told me. Today I went to put in some leave time for this Friday and saw that my 96 hours are now 40. When I talked to my boss he said that the set of 96 hours expired December 31 but that 40 of those could be carried over and that the set of 16 hours expired on your hire date. I used up the 16 hours. So pretty much he got mixed up in what set of hours expired when. I lost 56 hours of paid time off. Ouch.

...and on with my day.

That REALLY stinks!! I'm sorry. Well, enjoy the 40 hours like they are 96!
